Trans-Pacific Trading Ltd. (sales & marketing) and Tembec Inc. (manufacturer) join forces in an effort to increase their presence and market shares in the Japanese SPF 2x4 dimension market. After shipping successful trial containers into Japan in August and September, regular shipments will commence in the fourth quarter of 2008 with approximately 20 x 40’ per month. The volume is scheduled to be increased gradually to a final monthly target of 60 containers per month. The plan is for Trapa to market Tembec’s high quality Templus (a #2 & btr prime grade) in 2 x 4, 2 x 6, 2 x 8, 2 x 10, 2 x 12 and in J-Grade 2 x 10 only. The products will be coming from Tembec’s two BC mill located in Canal Flats (annual production capacity of 180 million fbm) and Elko (annual production capacity of 270 million fbm). Tembec’s BC mills are located in the East Kootenays where the Mountain Pine Beetle has not yet ravaged the Lodgepole Pine stands. As a result, the lumber from these mills are relatively free from blue stain and other defects inherent in beetle kill wood. We feel this will provide a distinct advantage for Tembec’s products to compete in Japan against the other interior producers that are having to deal with the blue stain and dry wood issues. In addition, Tembec has FSC product available thus Trapa is able to offer FSC COC into the Japanese market.

Want Big Timbers? We have them!
We are able to quote very large specialty structural timbers in Douglas fir, Hemlock and Western Cedar. Douglas fir appearance timbers and Douglas fir structural beams and timbers have long been known by people who need a BIG solid piece of wood. For those looking for a brighter cleaner look may we suggest Hemlock. Cedar is darker and is renowned for it's resistance to decay and its destintive "sauna smell". Need a 20 inch x 30inch timber? It is all possible.
