TRAPA has been exporting lumber globally since the 1970s, starting with clear coastal softwood to Europe and Japan. Over time, we expanded our product range to include diverse species, sizes, and grades to serve a broader international customer base.

Sourcing primarily from Western Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, TRAPA has built strong, long-term partnerships with trusted suppliers. Today, TRAPA manages export sales for several independent, multi-generational family sawmills and oversees global sales for Hampton’s nine sawmills. Available Species 

Coastal Species

  • Western Red Cedar (WRC) – prized for appearance, durability, aroma
  • Douglas Fir – strong, versatile, used in framing and beams
  • Western Hemlock – common in clear and industrial grades
  • Sitka Spruce – light, strong, used in musical instruments and aircraft
  • Amabilis Fir (Balsam Fir) – white wood, used for framing and packaging
  • Yellow Cedar (Alaska Cedar) – decay-resistant, fine grain

Interior Species

  • Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF) – a mix, commonly used in construction framing
  • Western Larch – strong and dense, used structurally
  • Douglas Fir – strong, durable, tight knotted, tighter grain
