Our Business Divisions
We take immense pride in our longstanding programs, many of which have been maintained for years. This demonstrates not only our ability to deliver on our promises but also the value of the trusted, personal relationships we have built with our suppliers and customers. At TRAPA, we have found our unique position in the supply chain, rooted in respect for all stakeholders. We understand that every partner—suppliers, customers, and our team—plays a vital role in delivering value to the marketplace.
- Custom Cutting: Our origins are deeply rooted in custom cutting. Today, this division remains a cornerstone of our business, focusing on cutting and selling Coastal Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar.
- Independent Sawmill Partnerships: TRAPA collaborates with several independent sawmills in British Columbia and Alberta, with responsibilities ranging from managing all their production to handling exclusive market placements.
- Access Mat Manufacturing and Distribution: As a leader in the energy sector, we manufacture and distribute access mats that support operations across Alberta and BC.
- Imported Japanese Cedar Products: In partnership with Hampton’s cedar group, we are a key player in the imported Sugi fencing market, delivering exceptional value to our customers.
- Representation of Hampton’s Sawmills: We proudly represent the offshore and Canadian markets for Hampton’s nine sawmills, showcasing our parent company’s high-quality products.
- Hampton Lumber Sales Canadian Office: Supporting customers across Canada with commodity lumber products manufactured by Hampton’s mills and our outside vendors.
- Log Export Programs: TRAPA supplies premium logs from Southern and Northern BC’s coastlines for export to China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, solidifying our role in the global log market.

Transportation, Logistics, and Compliance
TRAPA delivers with efficiency and confidence in every shipment. Our logistics capabilities span truck and rail across North America and ocean container shipping for all international markets. With access to strategic reload facilities and port terminals, we maintain flexibility and speed while optimizing logistics costs.
Beyond delivery, we provide peace of mind. With decades of experience in international lumber trade, our team expertly manages complex documentation, country-specific import regulations, and phytosanitary requirements. From USDA and CFIA compliance to species verification and country-of-origin declarations, we handle the details that keep your shipments moving.
Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of how TRAPA operates. We are committed to ethical sourcing and responsible supply chain practices that reflect the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. Our lumber products are produced primarily from forests in British Columbia and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, two of the most highly regulated softwood-producing regions in the world.
TRAPA holds a PEFC Chain of Custody certification (PEFC/26-31-65) and works with suppliers who share our commitment to legality, traceability, and non-controversial fibre. We proudly support a transparent and accountable global forest sector.
