At TRAPA, we are deeply committed to sustainability, which is reflected in every aspect of our operations. Our lumber products are sourced almost exclusively from forests in British Columbia and the U.S. Pacific Northwest. These regions are home to some of the world’s most rigorously regulated softwood forests. These regulations ensure that logging practices are not only responsible but also focused on long-term forest health, biodiversity preservation, and ecosystem sustainability.

We are proud to say that our sourcing practices align with the highest environmental standards. This commitment guarantees that the timber we use in our products is harvested in a way that maintains the balance of natural habitats and reduces the impact on local ecosystems.

Wood is one of the most sustainable building materials available. It is a renewable resource, and when harvested responsibly, it has a minimal environmental footprint. The forests we source from are managed with care to ensure that they continue to thrive and regenerate, making wood an excellent choice for environmentally-conscious consumers. In fact, sustainably harvested wood has a lower carbon footprint compared to many other building materials, such as concrete and steel.

Wood products also play a vital role in the fight against climate change. As trees grow, they naturally absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it as biomass—a process known as carbon sequestration. By using wood in construction, furniture, and other products, we are locking away carbon for the long term. This makes wood not only a renewable resource but also an important tool in mitigating climate change.

By choosing products from TRAPA, you are supporting a positive environmental impact and helping contribute to the global effort to reduce greenhouse gases.

TRAPA has committed to the Chain of Custody processes that are maintained by the international standards set by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC/26-31-65). Holding this certification ensures our customers that our products come from sustainably managed forests.

TRAPA collaborates with a number of First Nations partners in British Columbia and Alberta through a variety of forest-based business projects. These are typically project-specific in nature, where we value the opportunity to support local employment, economic participation, and sustainable resource development wherever our operations align.
